With the warm days of summer FINALLY upon us, thinking about fall and winter is the last thing most of us want to do. Yet, as the good folks at Seattle Tilth and Community Harvest Southwest remind us, “[a] little planning and effort now will pay off during the dark days of winter.”
How so? As it turns out, there’s a hidden blessing in our rainy, temperate Northwest autumns: they’re perfect for growing a plethora of delicious fall and winter veggies. This coming Saturday, Community Harvest Southwest and Seattle Tilth are teaming up to offer a great class on Fall and Winter gardening right here in White Center.
“Let the Tilth gardeners show you how to start seeds and how to squeeze those plants into your overflowing summer garden,” urges Tilth’s website. “Believe us, you’ll be thankful you took the time when you show off your homegrown veggies at that Holiday meal!”
