The community is invited to two events to learn about and support upcoming restoration work at Seola Pond in White Center – a remarkable natural green space valued by the neighborhood for its recreation opportunities:

  1. The first event is a community workshop and open house on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Grace Church, 10323 28th Ave. SW, Seattle. King County Noxious Weed Control Program employees will share information about the community-led Seola Pond restoration effort, teach people about invasive weeds and how to remove them, and talk about how the program helps keep people and landscapes safe from invasive and noxious weeds.
  2. The second event is a workshop that will be followed by a volunteer planting event at Seola Pond on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Seola Pond is located at near the intersection of 30th Avenue Southwest and Southwest 105th Street in Seattle. Volunteers at the work party will receive a free native plant to take home.
