Here’s a front row seat to watch crews painstakingly install synthetic FieldTurf at the Evergreen High School football/soccer field, courtesy Highline Public Schools:

Here’s more from the district:

This week, 900,000 pounds of rounded sand and rubber granules arrived by semi truck… that’s about 450 1-ton bags. A crew rolled out the new green carpet, stitched it together and used spreaders and power broom equipment to spread the infill granules and fluff it up! The synthetic turf and “infill” are identical to the materials used at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field.

Washington Interscholastic Activities Association postponed high school football and soccer until spring.

We encourage our community to wear masks and socially distance this fall, so our student athletes have hope of using this beautiful new field in 2021. It’s up to all of us.

Many thanks to our partners in funding this field: King County Parks – Your Big Backyard, NFL Foundation and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC).
