The King County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help identifying two suspected shoplifters who threatened a store employee in White Center recently.

Police say that on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at around 5:10 a.m., deputies were dispatched to what started out as a shoplift at the Super Saver Food Mart in the 10600 block of 16th Ave SW (map below).

An employee interrupted a female who was shoplifting and trying to conceal items. A male who was with the female brandished a large stick at the employee. When that did not deter the employee, the male then unzipped his jacket, reached in stating, “You don’t think I have something?” At this point, the trio moved out to the parking lot. The male held the stick like a baseball bat and was acting like he was going to swing it at the store employee. Undeterred, the store employee still tried to chase the female. At that point, the male brandished a handgun and pointed it at the clerk. The clerk stopped chasing and went back to the store where he called 911.

The suspects left the area on foot, headed northbound on 16th Ave SW.

A K9 attempted a track for the suspects but were unable to locate either of them.

If anyone has any information on these suspects, they are asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office at (206) 296-3311 and refer to case #C20019313.
